ENIGMA AT THE TOWN HALL

150 paying customers - all under 18 - were having a great time last night - waiting for GOOD DOG - who were not due on stage until 10.15pm. The noise inside was deafening - but the Town Hall has very thick walls. Hopefully the neighbours were not affected too much. Simon Towers was in an expansive mood on the front door and was pleased about the way things were going. There was a happy team of helpers who seemed to be distinctly under-employed on the "bouncer" side of their duties! Tim - the caretaker - reckoned it was all a huge success. The Banbury Guardian reporter was disguised in her student t-shirt and hoodie and was clearly enjoying the anonymity. Everyone thought Clare and Yasin had done a terrific organising job. This was an innovation that was proving really popular. There will have to be more. The only word of criticism I heard was from a bass n'drums fan who thought there was far too much emphasis on that rock sh***. "Next time " he said " the bass n'drums should be upstairs with the right lighting". Over to you Clare with that suggestion.......So the Town Hall survived. Somebody reassure me that there wasn't mayhem in the Market Square in the early hours.
