WILD AND WINDY JACOBEAN NIGHT

That was a wild and windy evening for sure - with drenching squalls thrown in for good measure. Everyone thought the lights looked splendid but it was best to be huddled up in the Co-Op arcade, inside the Town Hall or drinking Brian's mulled wine. The roundabout man was pretty philosophical and said you can't win every year. This time it was just too cold for the kids to enjoy themselves but they would be back next year again for sure. The music from the Top School group in the Arcade was sensational, the Kingstone Mummers were great fun and cheered us all up, and KOPO's mince pies were to die for. There was a rumour sweeping Top Side that the Mayor was around somewhere in full Jacobean gear but sadly our paths never crossed. Very few people seemed to have got into medieval mode but Jan Cliffe's ruff was very stylish. The vicar pointed at a soggy pile on the floor and said that had been his Jacobean cloak! The Reverend was out and about publicising his Carol Service next Tuesday at 7.30 in Stones bar if you please. What a whacky old place this town is! Well done Gina and everyone. Brrrrr....
