A great evening last Friday in the Town Hall. Something like eighty people took a break from Christmas shopping and got their glad rags on for a Charity Dinner Dance in aid of Penhurst and Katherine House - all beautifully organised by Brian Galbraith. Paul Aitken's band - The Retros - were in great form and worked through a first set of one and a half hours which covered most of the great sixties favourites from Lets Twist Again to Great Balls of Fire and taking in La Bamba along the way! Not a speech or Christmas carol in sight.   In the interval John Humphreys ran an informal auction which raised over 800 before The Retros took up the beat again to start a second set just before midnight which went on until the early hours. What an an excellent way to get into the seasonal party mood.
