Time Capsule
buried under the
re-furbished Town Hall Steps

 

 

 

Once the Town Hall steps were lifted recently for the first time in 150 years it was pretty obvious that nobody would be taking them up again for a very very long time. So Councillor Watkins had the bright idea of burying a time capsule to try and communicate to our descendants some of the flavour of Chippy Life in the bygone early twenty-first century.. John Nobbs - the site manager for the current refurbishment by BHL- is seen above burying the capsule last Tuesday.

And just what had Glyn put in the capsule
A letter from the Prime Minister and Hilary Biles.
Locally produced books all donated, two written by John Grantham, Regulated Pastures and his recent book about the Town Hall.  Five books produced and donated by the Museum, one from the Family History group about the Mill, �CHIPPING NORTON� by David Eddershaw donated by Jaffe & O�Neill.
