TOWN LOOS

A nice young man from the District Council came to the Town Council Meeting on Monday and told us how we should be very pleased that agreement had been reached that Chippy was not to have the Town Hall loos re-furbished after all. But AT TWICE THE COST we would be having completely new loos. But where to put them We should take absolutely no notice of the artists impression which he produced (above) and which placed an absolute eyesore of a building in the Market Square itself.....he was looking for alternative sites. There was uproar. Why not re-furbish the existing loos Because ventilation was impossible we were told. Put them behind the Guildhall. Not possible because that is going to be Disabled Parking and access to the soon to be refurbished Guildhall. The only possibility that emerged in the discussion was in Cattle Market. He would look at that. Which left us all wondering why he had produced these pictures at all. The whole thing rings very loud alarm bells! Watch this space.

And the latest word is that the search is still on for another site. The spare piece of ground outside the Fox is one idea. The motorbike park outside Somerfields is another. Any ideas are welcome/
